Vienna

After spending an amazing weekend with our friends from Esaip, Delvin, Mathieu, Lukas, and I decided to spend our last day of the trip in Vienna, the capital of Austria. We had to go to Vienna anyway to catch our return flight, so it was the perfect chance to discover a bit more of Europe.
We arrived around noon and wanted to dive into the local culture right away. That’s why we went to eat in a typical Viennese restaurant (Burger King). We got to taste some delicious local specialties (Cheeseburger) and gain some energy for our day of exploring.
We didn’t have a clear plan for the day — the goal was really just to walk around the city and enjoy the sights. Here are some pictures of the city, during the day and at night, in the sun and under cloudy skies.
We really found the city beautiful.

During the day, we had the chance to join a guided tour of the Austrian Parliament — in German. I was the only one learning German, so it was my job to translate for Delvin, Lukas, and Mathieu. It was a bit hard for me because I hadn’t practiced German in a few months, but it was a great experience.
While walking through the city, we came across a didgeridoo seller. He let us try out his instruments, especially Lukas, who knows how to play. Lukas completely fell in love with one of them and, after thinking about it for a while, decided to follow his heart and buy it. A very unique souvenir!

After a full day of sightseeing, it was time to eat (again). This time, we went to a real Viennese restaurant. We chose to try an Austrian specialty — schnitzel. It’s a large piece of fried chicken, usually served with fries. It wasn’t the best meal of my life, but since we were in Vienna, we had to try it!

Our return flight was at 5:45 in the morning. We still had plenty of time, but after a tiring weekend, we decided to go to the airport and get some rest.
An amazing weekend and a great visit to Vienna.
